2026 Native Seed Supply Forum with BioBank Seed

Native Seed Supply Forum 2026 with BioBank Seed

The Native Seed Supply 2026 Forum, held in Uralla from 27–29 May 2026, was a highly successful gathering of government agencies, scientific experts, restoration practitioners, and native seed suppliers from across Australia. Over three days, participants explored the growing challenges facing the native seed sector and the critical role it plays in supporting the nation’s expanding environmental restoration agenda. The forum fostered valuable discussion around seed availability, genetic diversity, long-term planning, policy support, and the practical realities of scaling native seed supply to meet increasing demand driven by biodiversity, carbon, and environmental repair initiatives.

A key achievement of the forum was the development of stronger connections between sectors that must work together to ensure restoration success. Attendees shared knowledge, identified opportunities for greater collaboration, and helped build a common understanding of the constraints and opportunities within Australia’s native seed supply chain. The conversations and insights generated throughout the forum have laid important foundations for future planning, investment, and coordinated action to strengthen the resilience and capacity of the industry.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the forum. This includes all speakers, panel members, workshop facilitators, and participants who generously shared their expertise and experience. We also acknowledge and thank our sponsors and supporting organisations: ACEN Australia, Landcare NSW, Southern New England Landcare, Uralla Shire Council, and the NSW Government.

Finally, a special thank you goes to the many people working behind the scenes whose dedication, planning, and support ensured the event ran smoothly and provided a valuable platform for shaping the future of native seed supply and ecological restoration in Australia.
